Hi! My mum and I were driving through the Solihull area today when visiting family and just happened to stumble across ‘Laura Ashley The Tea Room’. I’m a big Laura Ashley fan so I was very excited and surprised to see this. In fact, I’m in the process of choosing wallpaper and material from there for my new room so seeing all the patterns in such a lovely setting was so nice!

The decor and atmosphere is everything you would expect and more. The colour scheme is calm and modern with all of the classic Laura Ashley patterns and features. Everything is aesthetically pleasing and you just feel so relaxed as soon as you step into the room. I didn’t get a chance to check out ‘The Garden Room’ but if it’s anything like the main tea room then I can imagine it’s perfect for any event, especially baby showers or a special birthday.

As we were only stopping for a quick bite to eat for lunch, we didn’t choose to have the afternoon tea (although it was very tempting!). Normally, there are three different afternoon tea options. The classic one for £20, one with prosecco for £26 and with champagne for £27.50. As it’s Christmas time, there is also a festive themed one for £25. It seems like a lot of people go there for afternoon tea and it did look very, very nice. I’m definitely hoping to go back there to try it at some point.
Our Eggs Benedict and Coronation Chicken Sandwich (December 2018) Couldn’t resist a scone! (December 2018)
I chose to have an Eggs Benedict and my mum chose to have the Coronation Chicken sandwich. We also had a fruit scone to share afterwards. The food was lovely, the hollandaise sauce was delicious and the eggs were so fresh. As you can see from the photos, the portions are a good size and we were full by the end of it. The scone was nice and even though I don’t like raisins, I still enjoyed it. The cream and jam were both very nice and we had more than enough for both of us.

If you live in the area or are visiting then you should definitely look into visiting ‘Laura Ashley The Tea Room’ even if it’s just to see the beautiful decor. The food is good quality and there’s a reasonable variety. At the moment, they have one in Solihull, Coventry and Burnham Beeches. There is also one in Stratford-Upon-Avon coming soon, which is a lot closer to where I live so I will definitely be visiting it!
