Last weekend we had a lovely family trip out to Cotswold Lavender, a beautiful lavender field near Broadway and Morton-in-the-Marsh in the Cotswolds. This is open for one month each year before they harvest the crops, so members of the public can walk around and explore the rows and rows of lavender. This year, the dates that it’s open have been extended to 1st August which means that there is one more week left to visit!
This is a lovely place to visit during the summer. Although it wasn’t very sunny on the day that we visited, it was still really nice to wander around. It’s £4 per adult and £2 per child for entry – there were lots of people who had taken a picnic for lunch too so you can really make a day of it! There is usually a café and shop open but due to coronavirus this has been limited, meaning that there is a pop up shop with some drinks, snacks and lavender goods available.
Even if you can’t get to the lavender fields this year, they have a great online shop with lots of nice smelling lavender goods! Being in lockdown and going on more walks had really made me spend more time in the outdoors and exploring nature, so this was a lovely way to continue that as we can start getting out and about again. Have you managed to get out and explore anywhere now that we can? Let me know in the comments…
